June 25th, 2019 at two thirty in the afternoon the Policy & Conflict Resolution Studies Center (PCRSC) hosted Diego Checa Hidalgo, a Lecturer in Contemporary History at the Institute of Peace and Conflict at the University of Granada. The Arab American University Ramallah campus graciously received students and academics in order for Mr. Hidlago to give a talk titled, “Preventing Violence and Promoting Peace in Colombia”. 

 Diego gave an in depth and very interesting account of how international peace institutes came together to help resolve the longstanding issues of political, economic, and ethnic conflicts in Colombia.  The talk began with Diego addressing the audience getting a feel for what they knew about Colombia geographically, politically, culturally, and economically.  He assisted the audience by situating them within the historical and present context of Colombia by giving a detailed overview of Colombia’s geographical significance geopolitically, economically, as well as the internal make up of th

The president of Arab American University Prof. Ali Zedan AbuZuri handed the Head of Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), Ahmad Assaf a copy of a digital archive containing the sessions of the Palestinian Legislative Council. During the visit of the office of Palestinian Minister, Ahamd Assaf, with the presence of the Director of Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center (PCRSC) based on university campus, Rula Shahwan.

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center has archived about 200 hours of these sessions that took place on Palestinian grounds since 1996 as part of the Erasmus project, funded by the European Union.

On April eighteenth two thousand and nineteen at twelve in the afternoon Rula Shahwan the director of the Policy and Conflict Resolution Study Center (PCRSC) at the Arab American University facilitated and hosted a talk at the Ramallah campus in cooperation with the Swiss Peace Foundation.  The topic concerning the talk was that of the Palestinian Archive, collective memory and the role it plays for the Palestinian community.

Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at AAUP hosted the first screening of "Out of Place ... Edward Saed" Inspired by his book "Out of Place ... Memoirs", in Ramallah campus, in the presence of the film's producer Ms. Heba Al-Borini.

Mrs. Rola Shahwan the Director of Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center opened the event with a speech explaining the importance of discussing the content of the film and connecting it to the philosophy and vision of the center.

After the film was screened, the producer explained that the film could not treat or display the whole heritage of Saed, but it highlighted the main phases that influenced his life since his arrival to the United States at age of 15 until his death.

Activists women representing different Palestinian civil society institutions actively participateed on the workshopٍ they discussed. And evaluated the Women's role in peace building besides the Palestinian reconciliation.
